We are trying to decide whether or not to send our son to private school or to public school. One of the deciding factors is the safety of the neighborhood. We live in a relatively save neighborhood so the public schools around us should be as safe as we are in our neighborhood. After checking news articles, did not find many articles referring to incidents at the local public schools that our son would be going to. The articles we did find were not very bad and the persons involved were generally visitors to the school i.e. opposing school students at football games and things like that. We also had to consider, for public schools, which elementary schools feed into which middle schools and which middle schools feed into which high schools. There may not be many incidents at a given high school but there might be at some of the elementary or middle schools that eventually those children would grow up and become public students at that high school.
